Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

 A Functional Capacity Evaluation is a physical test designed to comprehensively measure an injured individual's physical abilities. Dr. Bagley has been trained and certified in the internationally renowned FCE testing format developed by Dennis and Susan Isernhagen.

The FCE includes a battery of standardized work-related functional activities that are evaluated over a two-day format.  This system combines the highest level of safety with objective findings.

When to refer for an FCE?
An FCE can be performed safely during any stage of the rehabilitation process. The FCE results can be used at the beginning of rehabilitation as a baseline measurement or at the end of rehabilitation to help establish disability status or readiness to return to work.  For personal injury cases, it is best if the person is at maximum medical improvement.

Who should be referred for an FCE?
Any individual that has suffered an injury or illness where documentation of functioning can assist the individual and other parties involved in the case. Referral sources include:
